ICCR members ask companies to mitigate their adverse environmental and social impacts.
One of the key levers we use to produce this change is the filing of shareholder proposals. When shareholders file a proposal, companies often reach out to discuss the proposal. If the company commits to implementing the proposal’s main requests, the proponents will withdraw it.
Every year, ICCR members negotiate many such agreements. In the 2026 proxy season, they reached agreements for 58 proposals. Most of this year’s commitments related to the environment (13) and corporate political responsibility (13), followed by climate change (9).
