ICCR Membership for NGOs
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are often an “on-the-ground” voice advocating on behalf of impacted communities across the world and, for that reason, are important stakeholders in our corporate engagements. ICCR collaborates closely with NGO networks to advance all our program initiatives; we rely on our NGO members for their subject matter expertise, research, and strong connections to impacted rights-holders.
Several of our NGO members directly participate in our collective engagements using the shares held in their endowments or investment accounts. Shareholder engagement allows NGOs to advocate directly with corporate management about the issues most relevant to the communities they represent.
Case Study: Oxfam America
Oxfam is an international confederation of 17 organizations networked together in more than 90 countries, as part of a global movement for change, to build a future free from the injustice of poverty.
“ICCR is the perfect forum for Oxfam to learn more about a company’s values, its internal champions, and its future direction. ICCR members have tremendous experience in engaging hundreds of companies. We have benefited from that experience through ICCR meetings and in conversations with members. Our Behind the Brands campaign has used the insider strategy more than any other corporate campaign we have conducted. Our collaboration with ICCR is an integral part of that campaign.”
