A coalition of 18 groups, including faith-based organizations, unions, environmental and labor rights organizations have signed on to a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry recommending that Thailand be downgraded to a “Third Tier” category in this year’s State Dept. Trafficking in Persons Report.  The report rates each country with Third Tier being the worst.  The coalition members are particularly concerned by the prevalence of slavery in the Thai seafood industry.
