Multi-Stakeholder Roundtable on the Human Right to Water

The Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility’s (ICCR) Multi-Stakeholder Roundtable on the Human Right to Water held New York City on February 8, 2013, brought together civil society organizations, affected community members, faith investors, and company representatives. While all present did not necessarily agree on all points and positions, the Roundtable demonstrated that conversation between companies, communities and others who care about water issues is vital and it should occur in a protected space.

This report summarizes the day’s discussions only, including key points, lessons learned, and actions for moving forward, and, for this reason, there are several important aspects on securing the human right to water that are not addressed here. We are eager to address these important questions with you in the future. ICCR members recognize that this work is an on-going journey, and we hope this summary contributes to the process.
