Frank is the Executive Director of Seventh Generation Interfaith Coalition for Responsible Investment (SGI), a coalition of 40 faith-based and values-driven institutional investors located in the Midwest who view the management of their investments as a powerful catalyst for social change. As shareholders, we participate in shaping the policies and practices of companies through dialogue with management, introduction of shareholder proposals and voting at corporate meetings. Frank also serves as Chair of the Board of Governance of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, a national coalition of over 300 faith-based institutions, asset management companies, unions, pension funds and colleges and universities that collectively represent over $400 billion in invested capital.
Frank retired after a 35-year career with Akzo Nobel, the world’s largest coatings company and a major producer of specialty chemicals based in Amsterdam, NL. He served as president and general manager of the $1.3 billion global surface chemistry business unit and held leadership positions in various trade associations. He was recognized as an industry leader in safety and sustainability by the American Chemistry Council with the Responsible Care Leader of the Year Award and by the American Cleaning Institute with the Alva Walker Spillane Distinguish Service Award.
Frank gives back to the local community by counseling small business owners as a certified mentor of SCORE, the volunteer arm of the US Small Business Administration. He also volunteers for the Capuchin Community Services for the homeless. He was previously on the adjunct faculty of Cardinal Stritch University College of Business & Management and has guest lectured at the University of Chicago and Marquette University graduate business schools. He has a B.S. and M.E. in chemical engineering from Cornell University and an M.B.A. in marketing from the University of New Haven.
Frank and his wife Terry have 5 adult children and a growing number of grandchildren and are residents of Fox Point, WI.
