NEW YORK, NY///April 19, 2007///The Interfaith Center
on Corporate Responsibility's (ICCR) board of directors is delighted to
announce the appointment of Laura Berry, the current Senior Vice President
for Philanthropic Service for the Community Foundation for Greater New
Haven, as ICCR's new executive director.
"Laura has dedicated her career to public service,
has a deep passion for faith-based and socially responsible investing,
and is a visionary leader" said Mark Regier, Chair of ICCR's Governing
Board and Stewardship Investing Services Manager of Mennonite Mutual Aid.
"Her experience and beliefs are an amazing match for ICCR."
At the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven,
one of the nation's oldest and largest community foundations with a growing
endowment of $280 million, Laura oversaw both grantmaking and fundraising.
The Community Foundation's revenues tripled during her four year tenure.
In addition to her stewardship of a $15 million grantmaking portfolio
focused on education, health, community development, youth and early childhood,
the Community Foundation broadened its work with diverse communities in
engaging hundreds of new donors.
Before joining the Community Foundation, Laura served
as Community Development Initiative Director for the New London Development
Corporation. Prior to that, she managed a $250 million portfolio as vice
president at SSB Citi Asset Management, relying on the synergy between
faith and socially responsible investing guidelines.
"When my beloved, honorary godparents, who happen
to be Jewish, read the position description, they both said it had to
have been written for me," said Laura. "As a Catholic who has
always been inspired by the deep faith and commitment to action expressed
in interfaith work, this opportunity is a privilege. I will strive to
live up to the example set by the extraordinary leaders, both staff and
membership, that made the first 36 years of ICCR's work so meaningful."
Laura, a native of Detroit, Michigan, lives in New
Haven, Connecticut. She received her Certified Financial Planner designation
from Quinnipiac University and holds an M.S. from the University of Michigan
and a B.S. from Michigan Technology University.
