NEW YORK CITY, NY///May 24, 2006///On May 1st, fourteen ICCR members, working with the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus, traveled to the Gulf Coast to evaluate the corporate responsibility challenges of hurricanes Katrina & Rita. They found significant human suffering, economic dislocation, and an urgent need for an improved response from the private sector and all levels of government.

ICCR is formulating an action plan for socially responsible and faith-based investors to respond to the continuing crisis in the Gulf Coast through advocacy, solidarity, and community investment. The first piece of the action plan is to call on Members of Congress to visit the region. The vast majority have yet to do so. Institutional investors may join ICCR in this call by clicking here.
