MMA Praxis Mutual Funds to be Featured on "The Early Show"

NEW YORK, NY///March 15, 2005/// MMA Praxis Mutual Funds is to be featured on CBS' "The Early Show" airing on Wed, Mar. 23, 8:08 a.m. EST.* MMA will be highlighted in the show's news story on faith-based investing.

In early February, the CBS crew interviewed Bill Hartman, vice president of MMA Trust Company, about the mutual funds and faith-based investing.
"The producer had a sincere interest in faith-based investing and was truly interested in what MMA Praxis stands for," said Bill. "She wanted to understand why persons invest with their values and was especially inquisitive about MMA's positive social screening process and connecting faith with money. The segment will be part of a larger report on faith and finances."

Bill was chosen for the interview after CBS contacted John Liechty, senior vice president of financial services, a few weeks earlier about faith-based investing. John talked to them and sent out material. "Evidently, they were impressed enough with the content of our materials that they called back. They asked for a financial planner who could be interviewed about how our funds are used in practice. I gave them Bill's name," explained John.

The popularity of values-based investing and corporate responsibility has been growing over time in general media. Speaking on this topic, John appeared on the well-known PBS show, "Wall Street Week in Review," in 2003. This month, a new PBS show will begin, "Ethical Marketplace," focusing on corporations and their socially responsible activities.
