The Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility today announced the appointment of Patricia Wolf, RSM, as ICCR's new Executive Director. Sr. Wolf will succeed Timothy Smith, ICCR's previous Executive Director, who retired in September 2000.

"We are fortunate to have a leader like Pat Wolf as ICCR's new Executive Director," declared Francis G. Coleman, chair of ICCR's Governing Board. "She has extensive experience and an impressive list of achievements as a leader of faith-based organizations. Pat also has a long history with the corporate social responsibility movement and ICCR. She was a member of the ICCR Governing Board for eight years and chaired the ICCR Board from 1982 to 1984."

Saying she is "honored" to be selected as ICCR's Executive Director, Sr. Pat declared: "Twenty five years ago ICCR changed my worldview and my life. I believe it continues to inspire change. Growth of the socially responsible investment movement offers hope that our efforts can influence the course of today's global economy. Our mission and moral imperative remain a world built on economic justice, peace and sustainability. "

"Pat also has been a major force in mobilizing Roman Catholic investment in economic development in low income and minority communities, founding and serving on boards of directors of several organizations and foundations," continued Mr. Coleman. "In 1983 she was a cofounder and the first President of the Leviticus 25:23 Alternative Fund, which pooled community development investments by religious communities from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut."

Sr. Wolf is or has been a member of boards of directors and advisory boards of a variety of hospital corporations and educational institutions, including Catholic Health East and the Eastern Mercy Health System. For seven years she was a member of the steering committee of the Religious Task Force on Central America and for two years served on the Advisory Committee for the Council on Foundations.

A thirty-seven year member of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, Sr. Pat recently completed eight-years as president of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas New York Regional Community. Sr. Pat has a Doctor of Humane Letters from Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, New York, where she completed her B.A. She has an M.A. from Manhattan College, Bronx, New York.

Sr. Wolf is ICCR's third Executive Director. ICCR is a coalition of nearly 300 faith-based institutional investors representing over $100 billion in invested capital. ICCR Members include denominations, religious communities, pension funds, hospital corporations, foundations, dioceses and publishing companies. Each year ICCR-member institutional investors press hundreds of corporations to improve their social and environmental performance.
