Bottled water corporations are changing the very way people think about water. Though many bottled water brands come from the same source as public tap water, they are marketed as somehow more pure. What’s more - bottled water corporations sell water back to the public at thousands of times the cost. Plastic bottles also require massive amounts of fossil fuels to manufacture and transport. (Genetically Modified Organisms)

  • Adoption of GMO food product labeling by major producers and marketers.

  • Promote independent scientific analysis of GMO crops and a commitment to a long-term, comprehensive GMO testing program.

  • Ban the use of food crops to produce pharmaceutical or industrial enzymes and chemicals.

  • Protect rights of farmers and indigenous peoples by ensuring that GMOs are not used to increase concentration of economic power in the world’s food system.

(Water)

  • Devise and enact a shareholder strategy to support the UN Millennium Summit water-related goals.

  • Engage in corporate dialogue on issues pertaining to water misuse, including issues of control and privatization, overuse, and pollution.
