The environmental justice (EJ) movement
is a response to the disproportionate concentration of pollution
from both the public and private sectors in communities of
color and low-income neighborhoods. Such pollution can take
the form of landfills, incinerators, and chemical plants.
The Environmental Justice Working Group was formed to help
empower these neighborhoods to exercise control over harmful
corporate actions.
Mission Statement
ICCR’s mission is to empower communities affected by
environmental racism by educating them about shareholder democracy,
and supporting corporate dialogues and shareholder campaigns
led by community-based organizations.
