Donna Meyer is System Director
for Community Health Services for CHRISTUS Health,
a Catholic, not-for-profit health system comprised
of hospitals and health facilities in Texas,
Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Utah, and in
the country of Mexico. Her duties include providing
leadership for programs and services which focus
on improving the health of local and global
communities. This includes overseeing of all
CHRISTUS programs for the uninsured, as well
as managing the CHRISTUS Fund (a community grant
program), the Community Direct Investment Program
(a loan program to finance affordable housing
and community development), and the Socially
Responsible Investment Program.
In addition to providing leadership for the
CHRISTUS Health Socially Responsible Investment
Program, Dr. Meyer actively participates with
the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility
(ICCR) and is a member of the Socially Responsible
Investment Committee (SRIC), headquartered in
Texas.
At the current time, Donna chairs the ICCR
Membership Committee and chairs an ICCR group
which is exploring effective means to invest
directly in the post Katrina recovery efforts
with the intent of establishing a permanent
domestic disaster response mechanism for interested
faith-based members of ICCR. She is also active
on the human rights and health working groups.
Dr. Meyer currently serves
on the Boards of Directors of a number of local,
state and international health related organizations
including the Texas Health Institute. She is
a Fellow of the American College of Health Care
Executives and earned her both her bachelor
and master's degrees from the University of
Minnesota and her Doctorate from the University
Of Texas School Of Public Health.
